This week’s puzzle comes from Gauntlet Bowl a month or so ago. It’s my Human (rabbits) vs Christian Slilentknight’s Chosen.
It’s 1-1 and the Chosen T16, looking to score and win the game. They have 2 RRs.
The Pic below, ball carrier is on the right sideline near the #1 only just in scoring range. Diagram below to help.
The ball carrier is 8 squares away, so must move toward the EZ with every step.

This is not the hardest puzzle as you know you have to go forward.
Blitz the Blitzer
This is actually a Blitz then leap play.
Blitz target = A (2D). On a Pow (55% they go diagonnaly south west and then leap over the body into the square next to E (4+ for 1TZ). Then dodge into a TZ (3+ as 2Heads), out of TZ (2+) and double rush to score (2+).
If it was a push (33.3%) then follow and dodge down the side line into 2TZ (4+), 2TZ (4+), 1TZ (3+) free (2+), rush, rush.
You have to have at least pushes on the Blitz, so must RR a 1/9
However, there is a question:
Should you Reroll pushes on the blitz?
The best answer is No, do not reroll pushes. If you have rolled a push on your blitz, then after the push you need to roll 443222 = 40% with two RRs.
Whereas if you RR and got the pow (only 55% of the block dice), then you’d go onto the Pow branch (43222), but that’s only 45% with one RR. So you have a 55% chance of having a slightly better route and 33% of the time you would go onto the pow branch with one fewer RR (it’s 27% with one RR).
So, overall, it is better to just run the gauntlet with the dodges if you rolled a push.
Overall, with no RR on the 2D, I make it about 50/50.
Blitz the Halfling?
When making this page I vaguely wondered if hitting the fling would be better.
Here you would need a 4+ dodge to get the 2D then a 332 dodges and 22 rushes to score. It doesn’t matter if you pow or not with this option.
It ends up not bad; 47% with 2RRs to score via that route. If there was only one RR available, then that option might have come out marginally ahead.
So what happened?
Chris did hit the blitzer, he rolled a pow, made the leap, dodge, dodge and double rushed his way into the EZ to take the Win. Bravo.
