Well, well, well, you’ve reached the first ever post on the shiny and new CLAW Blood Bowl pages. This either means you are a completist or just lucky. Either way, congratulations. Your reward? You get to learn a little bit about the CLAW.
Club Liverpool And Wirral Blood Bowl League
Let’s start with the contrived acronym. Pretty self-explanatory. These are the web pages of Blood Bowl in the areas in and around Liverpool. Everyone is welcome to learn the wonderful game that is BB

League
The club currently (as of 2026) runs Blood Bowl 3rd season (2025) league seasons. Seasons run twice per year Jan-Jun, July-Dec, with playoffs etc in the final month. 1000TV teams to start, standard progression, mostly following the GW league rules with a few local wrinkles.
Games are largely organised in an ad hoc way to suit your schedule rather than on a specified day/date. So, even if you can only play rarely you can still get a game.
In addition to the ad hoc games, we organise regular game nights at least once a month where we try to get as many people together as possible, these are usually in a pub for a relaxed evening of rolling dice.
League games are played in a variety of venues… basically anywhere with a table. The two games shops in the centre of Liverpool and particularly JustPlay on Tithebarne street, is quite common. Our current preferred locale is Azvex Brewery with nice beer parking and not too far from Moorfields station (or free parking outside).
Experience levels vary from complete beginners to seasoned tournament players.
Everyone is welcome and we are always happy to teach new people.
Tournaments
At present CLAW runs one summer tournament, with a likely winter tournament to follow. The CLAW tournament is a NAF-sanctioned event and part of the North West Tournament Series. The rulesets change from year-to-year with a claw-themed “wrinkle”. Links along the top of the page will tell you about the next tournament. Images below from CLAW bowl 2025.
Multiple members of the club also travel around the country and internationally to play in tournaments. If you are interested in attending, we share driving and accommodation costs for fun and not too expensive days/weekends away.
You can also represent CLAW in team tournaments such as the UKTC (Manchester, January), Hotpot Bowl (Preston, March), and the Home Nations (Loughborough, July), often with more than one CLAW team going.

What else?
Not much more to say here. Blood bowl is a great game and we love playing it and all its iterations. Indeed, we love it so much we wrote a book… The “unofficial strategy guide”, mostly aimed at newer players. If you want a physical copy, get in touch (or you can purchase direct via Amazon).
