A big thank you to everyone who attended Clawbowl 2026 yesterday for making it an excellent day.

And the winner is… Alex

Alex, SickAsEggs, one of my pre-tournament picks, took the title with his Wood Elf. The only player going 3-0-0 from the 28 player. Alex had wins vs Icyblankets Necro, Spleggy’s Skaven and Rob’s Chosen. Sadly the trophy blends perfectly with my awesome shirt!

Second place was Kris, Sporran, another of my pre-tournament picks, with his humans going 2-1-0. Team Scotland getting it done.

Most TDs went to CLAWbowl’s Andrew, Chorfling. Last year’s winner had another strong showing on 2-1-0 and third place (another of my pre-tournament picks… can you spot a trend).

Most Cas went to Iain, Wearyruntherd…without playing into any of the stunties. Apparently a claw mino does work.

Best Stunty went to VictorianBloke with his Goblins with Glart.

That leaves the final, but arguably most important official “prize”: ChorbowlBen became the new holder of the Bird of Shame. In taking over the mantle from Sam (also from Chorbowl…), Ben will now use the Bird for all dice rolls until the next Claw tournament.

Did Dusher remain unbeaten?

Part of the pre-tournament hype centred around Dave, Dusher1 and his unbeaten Nurgle. Who, if anyone, would be able to defeat the undefeated? Would Dave manage to score more than one TD in any game?

Dave researching how to score TDs…

Well I can now reveal that Dusher can be beaten on Nurgle. He lost 2-1 to Halftime OJ’s High Elves. I can also reveal that Dusher wasn’t able to score more than one TD per game, even playing into Gnomes and Snotlings in his other two matches. He did, however, win one of the spot prizes for CLAW-machine based casualties.

Dave his since written about his recent slump in form here.

My games

I had a silly day with Snotlings. Got absolutely murdered by Padster’s OWA. Ronnie popped the little ones until I finished with just the Trolls and 1 pump wagon on the pitch. Draw 1-1.

Got less murdered by Gedrosi’s humans. The CLAWmachine surfed his ball carrier and I got the stop, but Hakflem was off the pitch for my drive, which then collapsed in a turn of big guy failures. Apparently potatoing with snotlings isn’t particularly viable. Draw 0-0

Got murdered quite a lot by Dusher’s Nurgle but removed a few myself. He was saved by steadyfooting and managed to score on his drive. I scored quite early on my own going for the fun plays – putting in 9 players to sack one of his gors and another rotter, glorious. However, Dave was unable to score 2 in any one game, so it finished Draw 1-1.

0-3-0 but… unbeaten with Snotlings 😉

Leaning in to the silliness…

Winter Tournament Incoming

The organisers (Christian, Andrew, Dave and myself) were chatting over curry and beers later. We all had such a good time, that we are looking at a December tournament… Sandy CLAWs. Provisionally hold the 19th of Dec in your diary.
